 Throughout the wood crafting and artisan painting, "Geppeto" and "Capn" employ the latest production technologies and the highest quality materials obtainable. We work only with weather-loving, kiln-dried western red cedar which is very different from the pine typically used in early colonial times. Our cedar is custom milled to a full one inch thickness. It is rough sawn to give realistic textures (like cow and pig hides) and depth to hand painted colors and antique glazes. The finished Wood Ornament is very unique which sets it apart from the ordinary weathervanes.

Our Wood Weathervanes are a rare combination of function and art. The Ornament -- the crowning touch of every weathervane -- is individually handcrafted in layers of weather-loving, textured red cedar then artisan-painted in brilliant colors, followed by antique glazing and a clear finish coating. Each design is proudly SIGNED and DATED.

Each weathervane comes as a complete ensemble composed of a wood-carved ornament (with embedded brass swivel tube), and all the usual components of solid brass and copper in antique finish, the black iron assembly rods --- AND, at no extra cost, your choice of an exterior or interior ensemble mounting fixture for roof tops, walls/eaves, gardens or table top display.
